KZJOE900 wrote: Nice work on the paint booth, Did you install a vent hole with a fan? Make sure you use a good charcoal mask with new filters. Especially if you plan on doing 2 part epoxy. That is some nasty stuff.

Yes there is a filter on the side I took a pic of and another filter with a box fan on the other side. I use a good resperator and a paint suite. I will be using Dupli-color pre-mixed paint. Have decided to do Jett black with silver leaf offset pin stripes.

Sounds like it is going to be awesome! Very much enjoying following your project. Please post a good amount of pictures of the painting process. I hate painting too, but he results are so gratifying.

What KZ Joe said! The bike is going to be awesome. If you get it completed for The Rally, great! If not, no worries, it would be better for you in the long run to finish this project the right way, take your time. Remember, you can come to The Rally even if your Phoenix Fighter is not completed. Just find a way to get there. There will be a bike for you to ride. The Rally is for a short time. Your bike is going to be for you long term.

The quality is good as with all Meir stuff. The bike is in pieces right now. Frame is getting TIG'd up this weekend so I need to get to motor in. I held it up in front of the triple tree, I think its going to look good.

As far as the oil cooler mounting location. You want that out in the air flow, or run a couple of electric fans right on it, possibly a cowl to direct the air flow. Most would mount right out front at the front down tubes of the frame. Maybe not as nice as hiding it, but you need the cooler to reduce temps, which is by exchanging with air, lots of it.

I agree with you but I don't like it out front. I don't have an air box and a lot of the items most guys have under the seat are not there on mine. The side covers essentially scoop air and it will run through the cooler. I have also found 2 aluminum 12V fans that will most likely go on the back. I have not decided whether they will be thermally actuated or not.

As always, that's for the feedback Motorhead.
