Soda will just dissolve in the oil if it's left somewhere. Before hand I just soak with simple green for 10-15 minutes and hose it all down. Seems I should revive this from the dead, no it's not abandoned

Been having a lot of problems getting the motor back together. Between not getting parts, and my own ignorance I've decided to find a complete motor so I can ride this thing this year. Les Holt came through (didn't know he was so close) and I'm picking up a complete motor tomorrow evening! Should have this ol' girl on the road in a couple weeks!
