OK lil progress been workin double shifts got sick and spent 4 days in bed. surfed the net bought a tank to put the aircraft bung in. now need to buy a gsxr tank to make it happen. dragged mtself out of bed today and went to work when I got home tonight the swing arm has arrived. it needs degreased and shipped off. I am pretty stoked if thats a real word.







managed to make a deal on the brake arm and caliper with the swingarm
thinking about rearsets now.

This is pretty much the only thing that works on powdercoat, ask me how I know. You can also burn it off with a torch, around 500 it will begin to turn to ash. But so might your parts...

Thanks I still have a front wheel to aquire and strip may see if i can get it in smaller quantity.It's worth a try

Thanks I am getting geared back up to start the tear down Been waiting on my guy to get a project off the lift have another shop to do it in but no welding capability so I am at my brothers mercy on his shop and general fab work

60 degree day today would have rather went for a ride but the better half had plans for me. So I stayed around the house gathered up the Buffer from the bedroom the newsest oink Johnson puchase (a 77 Gas Tank) boxed a few things up organized my Yardbarn Shop.

I let her talk me into sending my swingarm to get fitted for it's new home from the local UPS instead of the one in town where I work so I could get home quicker yesterday, and lowe and behold they are only open 3 hours a day and were closed by the time I got there. So now it has to wait til Monday.

But I am getting motivated did some sanding and polishing on my Rim. Decided to paint the center black Plan was to Paint it Gloss black then Ghost in some skulls and Superman "S"'s (a little gay I know but hoping to get some work out of it)

but after priming the wheel the flat or matt black finish kind of pops I am liking it more and more as I look at it I am thinking the finished product may have to be the hot rod black finish





I have had several new ideas lately but need to finish one thing before going off on a new tangent

I like the matt finish better than gloss on the wheels; it looks like it means business. Ed

I think your right ED gonna have to research the hotrod black paint. I always go for the wet look and I struggle with that but I thought I heard somewhere the matt black had a different finishing technique.

im curious about matte black too. the guy at the auto parts store just told me not to use clear coat.. now my tank looks like its covered in barf

did my research and no it's a single stage flat paint any gloss (stripes or twotone needs to be done first then back masked. I was wondering about a flat clear 20+ years ago I used to use laquer clear that came in matt and satin. I dont know if it's even still available. I have a some time before my Swingarm is done I am gonna play with some combinations to see what works. I want sone ghost images on my wheel and it has to be cleared to look right (and improve the durability on a wheel)

Okay now to keep with the Kryptonite theme I decided to mix up some pearl green (should of thinned it a little more)and put some oversize Superman S's on it. not sure yet maybe clear it see what I have. it's only the 2" inches of the center and spokes did it kind of random. I'm thinkin looks too much like a bad attempt at CAMO







have alot of light on the pearl so its a little brighter than when I put the hardware on
