Yes i think the drawing's a bit out of proportion, shorter and taller than the real thing ,More of a caricature but if i can get something close i'll be very happy.

I'd say that u are on track. your frame shape is similar allready ( pulled up a little at the front). i like the shape so far.B)
i'd say the tricky part will be making the tank flow with this shape.
u seem to have great forsite. Keep up the good work.

Been a while since i posted (Life and things getting in the way)so time for a quick update.

Here's some pics of progress so far.

Alloy subframe made from bits of honda fireblade

Alloy (roadsign) bodywork still a work in progress but coming along nicely.

Also got the zx10r footcontrols fitted but still lots to do.

Bodywork still needs work but getting the look i think ?
Front mudguard is next on the list but i think it's going to be the hardest bit.

other than for easy motor removal why would you cut off the bottom of the frame? wouldnt that make it a lot less stable. or is there a bolt on sub frame just not shown yet?

ok i read back through but it still makes me nervous

I guess if you aren't nervous riding a bike, you might as well be on a bicycle?

Finally got some time to work on my own bike and had a slight change of plan in the process.
I've decided that the 1428 motor may possibly be a tad too powerfull for the little lightweight cafe racer so i've decided use it as a basis for a nice minimalist Moriwaki rep.
I'm slowly collecting parts for it but will resist any major work until the cafe racer is done.
Here's where it's at so far.

The cafe racer, due to the very tight frame is now going normally aspirated with bored out 26mm carbs (to 29.5mm) ,Yoshi type pistons ,gasflowed head and not much else.
Here's a few bits i've got done in the last few days, So will hopefully start getting more work done on a regular basis and maybe piece together and re-post some of the stuff that was lost in the meltdown.

Don't like gold too much so have replaced the zx10r calipers with those off an R1.

Pretty much a straight swap but the R1 calipers sat too high on the disc (shown in this pic)

So required 5mm removing off the calipers 'feet'

And, Hey presto! another job done.
