Oh we can have a comparison if I ever do change, it'd be interesting to test them side by side on a dyno to see exactly where the differences are.

Ideally, the carb I could want for my bike would be a mikuni RS30, but unfortunately they dont exist.

So I discovered something. Mikuni does make their TMR carb range for our bikes. Which means 28mm and 32mm flatslide Mikunis. They seem like they're going to be too expensive but I have a couple feelers out in Europe to see what the best price is.

So now the question. Would 28's or 32's be better on a 810?

TMR's will be almost impossible to find in a racked kz set. so any size u find will be good. the size comes down to your riding style. all carbs r a compromise of some sort. the ideal carb size for low end will lack in top end. the carb needs a high vacuum signal to perform its best at low rpm's so a smaller diameter carb will perform better. at wot u have a lot of signal so the bigger carb breaths better(providing your ports can match the carbs volume).
part of the problem we face is cost and availability. i think the cr29's would be a great all around fit . but as u have found, so is the RS34. the flat slides, provides a 15% better signal at 1/4 throttle, than the same size round slide. so there shouldn’t be a huge dif down low. Which is best? depends on how u ride. i dont ride below 4000rpm, so i would choose bigger. if u r going to whack the throttle, r you likely to have the rpm's high, or low?
That’s why I say to keep the RS’s , WHILE,u try something else. That way, u can go back and forth until u decide.
The cams will also play a part in this formula. They act something like the carbs. the more duration u have, the more top end and less bottom end u will have.
So a motor with a short duration cam will accept a bigger carb with less low end loss.
There r so many ways to build a motor. U can match all the parts to top end or bottom end, and have a motor the screams at 1 end. Or you can change it up to spread the power out. It depends on your wants. Everyone is dif.

Yeah I'm a lot like you. Not much time spent below 4000rpm. I found the response on the 34's just fine.

The KZ racked TMR's are available from a couple places in Europe, just waiting on a price. Probably going to be close to $2000. Which is nuts. Also got my eye on an eBay set of 33 flatslides. Might get them if they dont go too high, just as a sort of investment. If I clean them up and sort them out to work well on my 810, people will pay a good bit for them. And I cant imagine the jetting will be much different than on my 34's. Plus if they work better I'll just pawn off the 34's. But I doubt they will.

From a GSX750R, oil cooled. I think they're the same. Maybe a bit off. Injected on here used to have a set on a 650.

Yeah they're like hens teeth though it seems. So if I get a set I'll get them working on the bike after she's broken in to see how they perform on an 810. It'll be interesting to have the comparison. Then when I win the lottery I'll get a set of TMR32's and try those. And then a set of CR29's. Put them all on the dyno and see whats what. It'd be really fun.
