They seem to be working well. Throttle response is good, power seems pretty good but I'm sure it'll only get better as she wears in. The O2 readings while on the needle are pretty consistent. I just think she could go a shade leaner there, but richer at WOT. So a few changes to make before I'm running full tilt, and I still need to sync them after break in. I'm happy so far, I'm close to being done jetting after two runs. Try that with 30 year old carbs on a bike this modified.

Nope, still at the painter. Should have them soon. Exhaust should look excellent, I can't wait. It's coming DHL so it could be here by the end of the week.

first time i see this, nice build

but seriously, why run 34 carbs? totally over the top IMHO. not like the bike wont run but you could get way more dwon low driveability with 29-31's.... just to give you an idea, in my pretty highly tuned 810 racer i get 90 rwhp with 29 CR's and if money wasnt an object, wouldnt go bigger than 31.

on a more positive note, if you ever want to see that yoshimura pipe put to good use, I will be happy to mount it on my racer :) having a tiny bit ground clearance problems with mine at the moment.

The Yosh was sold a while ago to a guy in Florida. Not sure if he's on here or not.

I have RS34's because they are $150 cheaper than the Keihins. Thats the only reason really. It was a bit of a stretch to even spend as much as I did, but I wanted something new. They seem to be working just fine, I'm not looking for max power right yet. Maybe eventually I'll pawn them off on someone else and get some CR's. But for now I think they're fine. Mikuni makes them for 750cc bikes so I don't have a problem running them.

I'd like to get mine on a dyno at some point to see how she's doing but as there isn't a bike dyno on the island that will have to wait.

yep, they were sure made for 750's..... like GSXR's, ZX7's and such, modern four valve head designs that flow a good 30% more than your head with single inlet valves.... :)

dont want to put you off, after all you did very nice work, but if you do eventually run into jetting problems and lack of mid range response (i.e. needing constant high revs) then smaller carbs could help a lot. just like with rear tires, bigger might look good but is not necessarily better,

not a max power issue, quite the opposite.

would be interesting to see how much she does on the dyno

I hear ya on the tires for sure. I just installed a set of stock size tires. I was surprised to see how much narrower a 4.00-18 is than a 120/90-18. Bike actually feels better.

I don't have any jetting problems as of yet, and she seems to pull pretty well from down low. I have only about 5 mins seat time yet though, I'll see how she is once I get a bit more. I wanted to give these a try since they were cheaper and I wanted to see if they're actually as bad an idea as everyone says. Response seems pretty good now, as soon as I crack the throttle she takes off.

My lovely muffler from Milan should be here today and my paint is done so look for pics of the finished product on Monday.

If u ever decide to try a set of 29's(vm or cr), don’t u dare get rid of the 34's, until u try the 29's.
Promise. :P
we need someone to give us a real side by side, evaluation on these 2 setups. The flat slides will give more vacuum signal at low rpm’s,than an equally sized round slide. So we need a guinypig to tell us how they compare.
There is no doubt the 34flats will perform better at higher rpm’s.
I felt the rs34”s worked better than my VM33”s.

mark, all good, but his is a 810, yours a 1200 no? like 33% less displacement = 33% less air speed at the carb
