I really wish that I knew what the heck my exhaust is so I could tell you guys what to look for. I can only find two markings on the whole exhaust. On the bottom of the header where the tailpipe attaches it is stamped "211" and on the tailpipe in the same area is "219". Anyway, I think that it would clear in either of your cases. the collector is all the way to the right side of the frame.

I found a series 3 Yosh at the local wrecking yard for an 83 GPZ1100. They're asking $90, and it has the bend in it to clear the oil filter like yours Josh. I'm pretty sure it will fit my frame AND clear my shock linkage, but I haven't asked anyone yet  I'm not sure what tyler is going to do, I have zero knowledge of 650's

It's a definant sign that you have Kawius Dissasembleus. Truely amazing how much money KZR members will spend on rusty mild steel pipes.

The last time I was in Cycle Gear, I overheard a fellow shopper asking why he got an FI light on his new GSXR 600 when he put a unbaffeled turndown on in place of his muffler. The poor clerk was trying to explain the situation to him, but he just wouldn't see it. Couldn't understand how a straight thru baffle had any effect. I even heard him say "Yeah it's earsplitting, and I lost some low end, but I don't see how that baffle does anything. It's straight thru."

I hestiate to articulate for fear that I may deviate from the true course of rectitude.

I'd say go for teh series II Adam, its a steal in any case.

Some people are nuts Josh, I know some of those types. Seems like theres a large majority of the biking population who can't understand how removing a large restriction from an airflow might be a bad idea.

So, I found a ZR-7 exhaust on ebay, full stainless system, for $130. They're supposed to fit the header spacing, and it looks like it'd clear my swingarm too. Only issue is that I'm broke. So either my yosh will sell or I'll have to do a bit of drywall and plaster this weekend to pay for it. But that could very well be my solution, as long as nobody snipes it on me in the meantime.

good job.
i kinda winced a little when you said that the swingarm and header crashed :( .it is very hard to forsee all the little things that customizing one part can do to the stuff around it.it sounds like you are on the right track tho.i am sure that a man of your ability will have no problem coming up with a solution.
keep up the good work.

thanks for the kind words guys on tylers swingarm.he is a great customer and would love to help him anyway i can.

Thanks Leon, I'm sure I can some up with something. And you're welcome up here any time!

The shipping on the ZR-7 exhaust will be almost as much as the exhaust itself, but I still think that's my best option. A MAC might still have to be modified, and I'd hate to modify a new exhaust.

At least I got something accomplished today. The wiring is pretty much dealt with. A few things to do up in the headlight bucket to connect my acewell, but other than that its sorted, and all rewrapped and re-routed.

I sort of broke one of the tabs off my rectifier though. So I now also need a new rectifier/regulator. But that was on the do-as-soon-as-you-can list anyhow.

Anyone know where to get nuts for my calipers? I lost them, and the M10 nuts I bought from my local fasteners place don't fit.

Newest progress. Acewell mounted, wiring harness done! Got a nice little fuse block with blade fuses, much better in my opinion. All I need now is to mount my "bike on" switch, and do a couple little things up in the headlight bucket. Well, other than wiring in my new regulator when I get one.

Included a close up pic of the engine, I'm so happy with it all.

Note the non colour-coded wiring! :woohoo: But the coil mod is gone OMR!! When I get my engine ground and my switch to fuse block wires installed I'll check to see what voltage I get at the coils. I still have to clean all the old bullet connectors, I figured I'd leave them on since most of them still snap together good and they're copper too. But after a good clean with some alcohol or something, and a few squeezes on the females here and there my electrical system will be good as new!

Currently monitoring exhaust situation, if somebody picks up the Yosh I'm gonna buy a ZR-& system, if nobody buys it I'm gonna get a Z750 mid pipe and muffler and make it fit(without hurting the yosh).
