Does anyone know the part number of mirrors that were used on a 1982 KZ1000J? Or even a picture/description? Thanks.

TY zik. In looking at some other info, I see the -1346 specified as well as a -1342 for the J2.

I have the official Kawasaki parts diagrams for all three J models (J1/J2/J3) and those all specify 56001-1342 as the correct part number for those models. However, some on-line sites also specify 56001-1346 as the correct part (but not Kawasaki). I think I read that Martin CSR (a member here) said that the difference between the mirror stems of the the two numbers is one stem is at a slight greater bend/angle. I looked up both numbers in the Kawasaki microfiche parts catalog and only the J1 model is listed for 56001-1342. NO models are listed for 56001-1346...I don't know what this means.

Kawasaki.com lists the 56001-1342 mirror for the 80-81 KZ750-E1/E2 and the 81 1000-J1.
56001-1346 is listed for the 82 750-E3 & 82-83 1000-J2/J3.
Since they changed their site, I have no idea how accurate the info is any more.

I bought one of the -1342 mirrors from a 1980 750-E1 & three of the -1346 mirrors (two nos). The mirror stems appear to be the same, but the angle is different. The -1342 has a greater inside/obtuse angle, so the mirror head is a tad higher & a little more inboard than the -1346 mirrors.

Alternate part numbers listed by a seller (see reply below by McDroid).
56001-1342 = 56001-1085
56001-1346 = 56001-1095

On the Kaw site when changing the year or model, you may have to clear the cookies or close the window & re-open Kawasaki.com. Their site is kinda vexing to use. since they changed it, I have no idea how accurate the info is any more.

56001-1346 = 56001-1095

There is certainly conflicting info out there, even supplied by Mother Kawasaki. FYI, the 56001-1085 and 56001-1095 are numbers used on the euro versions of the J bikes...and these differed country by country.
