That warped rotor is your problem. Also check the other side.

Make sure that both rotors are not wrap. Having a wrap rotor is very dangerous.

Wow! That rotor is REALLY bad. I've never seen one that far off from being true. Are you sure it is bolted on evenly? Ed

The only time I've seen one that bad was after the bike was front ended by a truck.

Well damn.

Do people usually have much luck buying a used rotor, or should I forgo that gamble and get a new rotor? There's a few on ebay and the best price Ive found on an EBC is $175.

If I were to get a new rotor, whats the deal with the rivets that hold it to the brackets?

Double check. Kawasaki.com says they are socket bolts. Ed

I apologize, I should have been more specific - Since i went to spoke wheels this is a disc for a KZ750, despite the bike being a 550. The OEM part is 41080-005.
This rotor has a center bracket that the bolts go through, but the rotor is attached to the bracket with what looks to be rivets. I am looking an an EBC MD4052LS replacement, and from images it appears this bracket is not included, although they do say 'bolt on'.

That EBC plate won't work. The type rotor in your picture must be bought as a complete unit. You cannot just attach a flat rotor to the hub part. Ed

I believe the "prolite" series uses a aluminum carrier. If it doesn't have a carrier it would not be in the "prolite" series as the carrier is what separates it from their other products. They dont photograph each rotor for every model. its one photo for all rotors. They use a better stainless alloy with a better friction coefficient than the stock rotors. combine that with some good pads and stainless lines and you will have very good stopping power.

Ok, this was my hope. Z1 has a picture for another model of the same EBC Pro Lite rotor and it looks to me like it had that center bracket/carrier. I just didn't want to drop the cash if I was not certain.

That's more like it. :)

One thing you may want to check before ordering a new rotor. You can remove you current rotor and lay it on a flat piece of glass to make sure that it is actually warped rather than the problem being a result of something just mounted wrong. Based on the video you posted it should be very easy to tell. Ed
