For you guys running LED taillights, what load resistor are you guys running?

I thought it would be a straight swap, but apparently not. I thought something was wrong with my wiring, but I plugged the stock incandescent bulb back up and it works as it should. So, all the wiring is good.

Any help would be awesome!

A 12v LED taillight bulb/assembly (designed to be used on vehicles) does not need any load resistor.

Sometimes load resistors are needed for turn signal flashers to work correctly, albeit by wasting power. A far better solution, for that is to use a fully electronic flasher. But none of that applies to a simple tail/brake light.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't 100% positive with motorcycles. It's definitely a 12v LED taillight.

Any other ideas why it's not working??

If it's a new item, it's possible there was a manufacturing defect (which should have been caught in QA/QC) or it was damaged in shipping.

It's not one of those "self-grounding" lights is it? If so, you may need to remove some paint wherever it bolts up to the frame. If there's paint in the way you won't get a ground and the light won't work.

Spent the better part of an hour last night troubleshooting and digging through the wiring diagrams again.

The RED and BLUE wires were opposite in the wiring. Got it all working finally and I was able to fab up a mounting bracket to eliminate the stock rear fender.
