So I am thinking about changing a lead-acid battery to an Antigravity lithium battery on my KZ400.

Will this be compatible for the bike. Also will I have to rewire my electrical system?

I cannot speak to compatibility, I know there small and light making them ideal for a lot of projects.
I also know cold affects them more than lead-acid or Glass matt batteries.
And as it says charging is an issue.
I switched to AGM batteies and love them , I think they have to be standard now?? but I live in a bubble so I don't know.

I also am running this voltage regulator on my Suzuki, really great super stable output right at 14.5- 14.6 hardly varies at all from idle to 9000rpm. I added a digital volt meter so I know where its at.
Seeing I am new to the site I don't know whats been posted or not so forgive me if I post common knowledge stuff :)
This is the regulator

I believe its called "Oppositional Defiance Disorder"

I got an Anti Gravity li battery for my 750 twin this year and its been a champ so far. Anti Gravity and plenty of others will recommend a new regulator/rectifier and I got one from oregonmotorcycleparts.com system works like a damn but its pricey, battery and reg/rect ~$350. Battery weighs like 1 pound so if you care about performance losing 8-9 ish pounds certainly helps.

EDIT No, it just wires up just like the old lead acid battery

Which Antigravity battery did you get? 8 or 12 cell?

Read about a Bike master lithium battery in one of the bike mags that went for around 95 bucks and he had it in a 650 something so it should be sized pretty good..... way less money but lesser quality too.... my old R/R and the cost of the battery and charger is holding me back for a while but maybe someday.

I went with the Ballistic 8-cell in my 76 KZ400. Works great. The lithium batteries do not like being overcharged and the stock charging system can overcharge them. A new modern regulator/rectifier is a good pairing with the battery. I got mine from Ricks Motorsports Electric but Oregon is another good one. You may also want to check out Sparkmoto - I think I'm going to try his on my next one. As far as trickle charging you can either buy the battery suppliers charging unit (which is a good option if you want to spend the cash) that balances the cells as well as charges or you can use many other good quality chargers - I use a Battery Tender Jr. and it has worked just fine on the Ballistic for a couple of years now.
