So it is not necessarily the age but the amount of use? Should I change out my spark plug wires?

Depends on their condition. I've got coils that still work with 30-40 year old wires. I went to Dyna due to big carbs and other mods. It helped a little. :whistle:

If you change your coils please send me the old ones. I wouldn't mind having a spare set of coils with only 5000 miles on them.

I don't consider Dyna or Emgo or generic coils to be an upgrade. The stock TEC coils are high quality. If you have spark I'd leave them alone. Change the lines at most. That's what I did on my 750. It sat outside for quite a while before I got my hands on the bike though.
