I have a 1982 KZ440 LTD Belt. I'm looking to upgrade the incandescent headlight to something with more visibility. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been hashed out in this forum. I've searched high and low for the answer to this question, but have not found a good solution, yet.

Please help!

I looked for a long time for a headlight for my 76 KZ400. I finally ended up getting an Emgo replacement headlight and chrome shell. Looks factory and the bulb is of the H4 type and replaceable.

Thanks! Was the wiring straight forward?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI went HID. 1/3 the power draw and more light. Blue tint so drivers SEE me now.

Just had to use some spacers and new bolts for the new shell. No wiring changes.

Does the smaller KZ's use a smaller diameter headlight?

I put a set of relays in mine. It made a big difference with the stock headlight. The reserve lighting box didn't like it though so I had to delete that.

I went with trucklite led bright bright bright. just plug and play. Uses less voltage than HID. Check it out.

I went with the Emgo light as recommended by @thatgpzguy. The opening on the bucket of my ltd 440 is 7". The incandescent light fixture and housing is quite proprietary. The light itself (diameter) is between a standard 5 3/4 and 7". Hopefully the Emgo lamp (halogen) and bucket will do the trick. Anything is better than incandescent!
