I'm in the UK, struggling with a tatty KZ750E bought off eBay. The RH handlebar switch was on its last legs, so I went for a reproduction model for a Z1 from an eBay seller. These are only £35 each ($45). All went well, converting the 4-pin to a 6-pin connector using my wiring diagram - until I came to test the starter button. Whatever I did, the main 25A fuse kept blowing. Turns out the back of the starter switch had the live too close to the casing and there was an intermittent short to ground through the handlebars. The solution was to epoxy over the back of the connections in the switch.
Watch out for those cheap Chinese eBay copies, better to go to a specialist and get the original refurbed instead!
