Ok so I did some cleaning on a few connectors, and some voltage readings, found that after the ignition switch voltage drops from 12.49v-10.49v, then after the handlebar controls it drops to the 9.??volts. Are my switches bad?

Can you clean the ignition switch? I have cleaned the connectors that lead to the switches, but do I need to get inside and clean? Also is there a way to clean the inside of the ignition switch?

Get some contact cleaner and spray inside it while turning it off and on, disconnected of course. I've tasken them apart but unless you know what you're doing, you can mung it up.

As far as the hand controls, just take them apart and clean?

Focus here has been electrical, right? Just playing carbuerator advocate, Have you considered your main jets(one or more) are still blocked? The bike behavior you are describing sure seems carbuerator related as in: bike idles then bogs on giving throttle. Just my $0.02.

p.s. I recently chased an electrical gremlin on my 2011 C-14 and turned out it was something as simple as the ground connection from my PCV. Bike would just die like it was out of fuel. The Power Commander ground was loose and during a ride would vibrate and cause a break in the connection. :pinch:

Controls are easy. They're screwed together. I cleaned mine and used lithium grease. That was three years ago. Still working today. I need a new ignition switch, it's old and the key is sloppy.

The focus is electrical at the moment, because I'm only getting 9.78v at the coils. I cleaned ignition switch and am now getting 11.48 volts out, but 12.29v in, which is better, but I took apart the controls and am getting the same 11.48 in, but 9.78 out, I sprayed contact cleaner inside, but my run off switch seems sloppy, is there a way to get it out to clean/"adjust" it?

It has a cir clip and is spring loaded. Careful. Mine was sloppy too. The board was broken. I used crazy glue and JB Weld around the wires. It's still working too. Had it bypassed before.

As far as the carbs go, I really seriously do not think they are clogged, I thoroughly cleaned and blew air through every passage, and blocked passages to reroute air flow to connecting passages, I dipped every part and let sit in Chem-dip and put rebuild kits in, and installed an inline filter in my fuel line.....
