Looked down at my speedo last week and saw no reading. Thought the worst (33 yr old meter had broke) Pulled over to investigate and saw that me cable had fouled at the wheelend but couldn't see exactly what was wrong. Went to nearest service station and asked to borrow a pair of pliers (I carry my own w/ me after this and if needed to do a clutch cable replace which I had to do last year)

Used the pliers to loosen knurled ring (its like that at both ends so no specialized tool is needed) to reveal the problem

the whole cable (Luckily found one on the internet for around $14) Theres more out there.

the slotted end goes into the wheel side and the knurled end goes into the meter. Glad i saved the old cable to make that part simple. I tightened the wheel end first to lock the slotted part of the cable into place.

Need this to work to know when to change my oil ;) I do that myself thanks to the manual & your guys motivation
