What 1100 is it? Does the bike have the stock meters or what?
From the diagrams at partzilla the 2 models listed each have a cable-driven speedometer?

Its a 1100 shaft , Odd that it would be electronic if you say that both parts available are cable.. I have aftermarket speedo I want to install hence the change of sensor. here is a photo of the 3 point connector which leads to the sensor, sorry for the bad quality in the photo

I would think there is a solution from the Kawasaki parts bin either way. For example the 1982 GPz 750 R1 had a cable driven speedometer and I have one of the cable drives in my collection of various parts that looks very much like the one on my 78 KZ1000A2 and 77 Kz650B1. The GPz however used the later type wheel where the smaller rotors bolt directly to the wheel with seven bolts as they did on most of the later models which indicates the front wheels then had a compatible set up to work with a mechanical drive, which in operation at the wheel may be basically the same as the electronic one, I don'r know it's too long since I saw an electronic one.

I would go on Kawasaki parts diagrams and compare what was used for a mechanical versus electronic speedo and which models had which, that way you should be able to work out what parts you need and from which models. You then should be able to loacate the necessary on ebay, at a bike breakers or from any one parting out a bike locally.

Checking further, the meter diagram for the 1100-A1 shows the electronic speedo drive case assy. doh.
The front wheel/hub diagram shows a speedo receiver that appears to be similar to the mechanical drive type. I don't know if they are the same or interchangeable. Hopefully, someone else can answer the question.

According to the parts diagram the GPz 750 uses a different speedometer receiver than the KZ1100, that, in simple terms, is the metal part that transfers the drive from the wheel to the speedometer drive. I think you would need that plus the mechanical drive gear to go to a cable set up, if the existing is electronic. The mechanical speedo receiver looks like it has two cut outs opposite each other to for the speedo drive, the electronic one looks to have more cutouts or teeth. Otherwise everything else looks like it would be the same.

The op could reference the diagrams at Kawasaki.com & Partzilla and use eebbaayy photos to see if the mechanical type stuff from an 80's model could be used. the 81-on models are probably a closer match & maybe one or two from 1980 (some models from that year kinda carry over the 70s type stuff).
I'd guess the speedo conversion can be done. just a guess. :)

The 83 1000-J3 is probably a close match. The 1000-CSR has the same axle & collar but wire spoked wheels. Also worth looking into are the 82-on 1000-P police bikes.
