I'm restoring the gauges on a KZ1000D3 (80 Z1R). I've done several sets of gauges in the past, and have the tach done on this set. However, unlike the earlier speedos with the odometer reset on the side, this one has a knob on the gauge's glass face. This is going to have to come off to open the gauge for cleaning. I've lightly pried on it, but it didn't just pop off. Before I really crank on it, has anyone removed one of these? Is there a trick?

Yes!!!
The knob is threaded onto the trip meter reset shaft - It is a left hand thread - that's the trick!

Turn it clockwise to undo - might be a little stiff - perhaps a drop of WD-40 will help to loosen it.
