Hello everybody,

I'm a proud owner of a brand bew kz1000 ltd 1978 b2 :) and a big fan of wrenchmonkees bicycles !

I actually have a problem and ask for your help if possible.
I have buy 4 new turnsignals example (21 watts) to replace the 4 oem parts (23/8 watts).

2 rear turnsignals works perfectly if front turnsignals are nor connected.
When i plug the front ones then all the turnsignals dont blink and the light just stay open. The Turn Signal Flasher Relay don"t work anymore (no sound).

i' think it's because my 4 new turn signals have a to high watts... am i right?
Btw It's not led turnsignals...

If i'm right What is the best solution for me?
- buy a new oem Turn Signal Flasher Relay (because it must work and mine is too old)
- buy a new led Turn Signal Flasher Relay (because it's more strong)
- other solutions ?

Thank you for your help

Regards
Fox

Is your battery fully charged? You might want to try again with a battery booster connected. A couple watts difference in the lights shouldn't cause the issue you describe. Other than that, it sounds like something is hooked up wrong.

I have found the Tridon/Stant 552 2 prong turn signal relay to work better than the stock relay. It is electronic, so it does not depend on resistance to make the flashers blink. Even if the battery is fairly low the flashers blink at a consistence rate. For my 1977 KZ650-C1 it was a direct replacement being the exact same size and shape as the original. Pretty much any car parts store sells them, and like me, they are cheap. Ed

The wiring diagrams are in your manual. If you don't have one you need to get one.

Hello,

Ok i find some cables troubles and repair them.

The turnsignals was working perfectly and warnings too :)

I test the motorcycle and run a little.
Then i test my turnsignals : good.
I test the warnings : nothing.

I insvestigate more and finaly find something : The warnings are working just if the left or right turnsignal button is open...
If the turnsignals button is off i can't have warning...

Not a big trouble ... But if someone have an idea.

Fuses are OK.
Relay is new.

-Last time when i try to have the warnings i ear the relay sound one time... and nothing.
- My new front turnsignals have 2 cables. Oem ones have 3 cables. So the bleu ones on the headlight (one for each front turn signals) are not connected.

Hello,

thank you very much.
Now i can confirm that all my wiring is correct :)

Well, everything is working... i just have to activate left or right turnsiganls button to have warnings....

In the same time i can see low intensity headlight when i use turnsignal, and more low intensity when i use warnings.
But battery is new.
