Hey guys- my girlfriend has a 1983 KZ250 and seems to have misplaced the keys. I lost my keys last year (1981 GL500) and ended up just pulling the ignition switch barrel and taking it to a locksmith. Has anyone here pulled the ignition and have any advice? Also, does anyone know where I could find a link to the service manual for this bike?

Much appreciated.

If the switch is anything like the larger bikes then it is held in place by 2 Allen screw from below. Remove headlight . Disconnect the wiring connectors inside. Remove or drop the entire headlight bucket and use a flashlight to find those 2 screws if you have poor eyesight like me

Hey Matoherk my q981 250 came without key as well I pulled he ignition assembly two bolts underneath near fork cap undid the wiring jn headlight bucket as well as he Helmut holder/seat lock and took bother to local locksmith. He identified key blank by make and model and their directory and cut key by code from numbers on lock, cost by code $20/ 2 keys. Easy!!
