My 75 Z1B 20 Amp Fuse blew while riding the other day (not immediately). At first, I thought the problem was the low battery, so I added some water and trickle charged it for 12 hours. No power or lights available even though the battery tested OK at 12 volts. I pulled the main fuse and it had a hairline break in it, not very big, but enough to blow I guess. I replaced it and the bike started right up and ran for 5 minutes without blowing again. I'm wondering if some bad connection caused it to gradually blow over time and if it will take as long again to reoccur. I've owned it since 75 and this is the first time it has happened. I checked visible wires as mentioned here but couldn't spot any broken ones. Anyone see this sort of failure? Thanks!

Do you have the original regulator and rectifier?

try disconnecting the front brake switch. Found it bad on my 77 Ltd, internally shorted to housing.
