Depends on the tool. They used to be the best on hand tools but their other tools were iffy. Don't know about timing lights.

Agree. I have a 19v lithium drill from them. It's been very good to me and much less expensive than dewalt or Milwaukee. I looked up a way to see who actually made my drill that year- it was dewalt. Now I'm sure it's not built to dewalts specs but craftsmans, but still made me feel a little better. Then I found out black and decker actually owns dewalt and I wouldn't really put much faith in BD anymore.

As for hand tools, I have all craftsman, but lately for the things I don't use often I've been trying some harbor freight stuff. It has some good reviews and I'm happy with them - but you have to keep an eye on what you're buying because some it their stuff is pretty bad.

The Sears and Sunpro stuff was all made by Actron at some point. All of the Actron stuff I have, and my friends have had, have always been reliable.

Lou are you talking all craftsman electric tools or just the timing light?

Timing light and dwell meter, and maybe some other engine diagnostic electronics. Haven't checked recently, though. If your manual says Actron, it's probably decent for the price.
