Hello,

I own a kz650 B3 and i recently purchased an ignition switch but it only has a 6-pin connector. The B3 has an additional brown wire(separate from the 6-pin connector) that is required for ignition switch. Is there any way i could modify the 6-pin switch to work ?
I searched around and found one guy that had a similar problem, except his bike was only a 6-pin and his newly purchased switch was a 7-lead. He solved it by wiring the brown and yellow wires coming from switch together. I tried that for mine but did not seem to work. Thanks, I am an electrical noob. I have added pics for reference.

I'm having the same issue on my 1000. Bought a new switch and lock set from Z1parts.net and didn't realize it was an earlier plug. Mine is an 80 harness. I've also read about wires needing tied together but couldn't figure out which ones.
1980 kz1000g 1105 34mm Mikuni flat slides Kerker exhaust custom paint stock ignition(Dyna 2000 soon) Accel coils and wires stock cams w/ heavy springs for more rpm. My 2nd 1000.
