I have had my GPZ parked since easter since the main fuse blew on a ride. I traced out the wiring diagram and have ascertained how the original fuse block was wired to work. The main 30 amp circuit goes up to the ignition switch and then provides a switched hot for the other 4 fuses. I have procured a Painless Wiring 70217 switched hot circuit 7 slot fuse box. Please see below. It looks like it fits, I just need to make up a panel to mount it on behind the right side cover.

My question is this. The system comes with 2 - 40 amp circuit breakers for the 40-amp switched relays. Since the load on the original "main" fuse is less due to the use of the relays, can I hook the hot for the ignition switch onto one of the 40-amp break and not worry about a "main" fuse? Or should I play it safe and put an inline fuse holder with a 30-amp fuse (not a resettable breaker like what came with the panel) to run from the battery to the ignition switch? I am thinking the load for the main fuse will go down dramatically, because it is becoming a switching ciruit to power the relay and the load is going through the 40-amp main fuses and relays. Any advise would be appreciated.

My feeling is to put a 30 amp fuse in the circuit, as Kawasaki Engineering had that size designed in. 40 amp circuit breakers(In my opinion), would let damage take place before opening, making for extensive & expensive repairs.
