Dyna-S has no separate control box. It comes with two modules attached to a back plate with three wires exiting, plus a rotor to replace the points cam.

Here's a pic.

Good Luck! :)

The three yellow wires from the stator are a dead giveaway, regulator/rectifier.

Finish your description of the wiring please... two orange and two green... where do they go? I don't see a brown wire hehe

If you have a combo reg/rec, the three yellow wires will come from the stator. You will have a ground wire and a power OUT wire at a minimum. On some reg/rec wires there is also a sense wire which connects to a switched DC sub-circuit to sense voltage. I would get rid of that thing and replace with something more familiar.

S7T-01 corresponds with a Shindengo unit from a Honda GL1000 K1 - can't say for sure if it's a combined reg/rec though, I believe some of the old GLs had separate units.

I agree with OnkelB, I seem to recall hondas using rectifiers with that type of connection. If the GL1000 theory holds, then it's just a rectifier, not a regulator. Green is ground, red/orange is positive.

at first i thought that i did not recognize it cuase i had had 1000 kz and z-1 but no 76kz900 before...then i started seeing some wierd on the cheap fixes from the p.o....what you say makes sense becuase i have a regulatro hooked up and i think the guy i bought it from said" oh you might need a rectifier"....i just got a used regulator of e-bay and a new battery when mine would not charge overnight anymore....now i gotta go on a search......

those are great links patton thanks....of course no 29.95 anymore...but if it works and is for a z-1..kz..i should probably do it...somtimes when the regulators (stock oldie)s)are on e-bay guys will say in the description regulator/rectifier...but i think it is just a regulator...
the picture below is what i have in another location.....is a regulater rectifier gonna mean i can do away with this unit....i know i am into territory that i should be reading up on ...it's just that you've carried me this far and it begs this question next....thanks guys for all your help...and as mentioned i got a stack of redbull laguna seca decals for free the other day ...p.m me if anyone wants one and i'll throw a stamp on an envelope and get a couple to you i have plenty....craigakPatton wrote:
