A couple months ago I got all of it except the gear and main housing from Partszilla for around 90 bucks plus I had a extra pan gasket and the 2 90mm orings for the top and bottom of the filter ......
3 rollers, springs, pins, clutch nut, front and rear thrust washers (for clutch basket), 46mm o ring, gear roller bearing, the 2 main screws and the 3 oil rings for the oil passages (92055-077) ..... not sure if those 3 are needed don't remember seeing them in the break down for the 750 but defently check. Also if anyone see's something I missed please chime in.
Need to add a clutch cover gasket too.

Dom2570 get a pair of jump leads from the battery, and power the starter motor direct, one +ve to the live terminal (careful) and the -ve to the starter motor casing. If the motor fails to crank over consistently then your problem is probably elsewhere, a slipping starter clutch has an awful screeching sound, quite unlike anything else.
Even if the starter clutch is stuffed, the starter motor should be turning, that clicking solenoid relay but no starter motor might be a clue here: starter solenoid is an electrical relay that clicks closed when hitting the starter button and feeds starter motor. Temporary Jump lead testing from battery terminal to starter motor body and terminal eliminates all this wiring.
Starters need to be tested fitted and against a load, a defective starter might spin with no load but struggle to crank the motor every time.

guys, this video:
shows one slipping, and it looks like some or all of the noise is coming from the screws not being tight, and hitting the sprocket... ???
is that right? is it possible the screws are just loose?

Try tightening the screws. The chain jumping bothers me.

Can a kicksatarter be retrofitted to a 1980 750 electric start engine?
just read this to realize, did you mean literally "oil" threads, or "old" threads?
can the oil, specifically type, weight and so on, effect the starter clutch that much?

well, that vid isnt of my bike, just one i found on youtube that sounds almost exactly like mine...
that chain jump is insane....
if i can get some free time i will try to take a video of my actual bike and the sounds its making.
work has been crazy. my company has been shut down by our main contract to do an internal audit of cpu hard drives, and ive been working 12 hour shifts for 9 days straight wiping hdds.
good money, enough to fix the bike alot sooner then i expected, but noooooo time to try anything.
and to beat it all, the weather here in TN is amazing right now, absolute perfect riding weather...

Z1 can't get the main gear and housing either and their parts are after market (pins, rollers and springs) ..... plus they will need to special order all the other stuff. but I will admit I try and have used em for a lot of other things.
Could be loose screws, broken spring or springs etc from what I've read, you'll need the parts anyway after you tear into it ..... reg oil over synthetic helped mine for the summer but as soon as it got cold it returned so the problem is still there.

i think ive found the one way assembly and the sprocket new, also planning on getting the race/bearing and spacers.
im guessing ill need to do an oil/filter change at the same time, and oil pan gasket?
any other parts reccomendations to order?

the previous owner had just changed the oil right before i bought her, and i am not sure what type brand or weight was used. I can try to find out however.
if its something that simple, i wouldnt know weather to be overjoyed, or extreme pissed LOL.
ive found a guy who has an entire lot of parts, internal engine/clutch parts aswell, literally several boxes of KZ parts. Hes offered me a tremendous deal, and it does include a starter clutch, but im so leary of using used parts....
maybe i could rebuild it though? the clutch plate aswell as a starter clutch rebuild kit, and still buy a new sprocket?
heres a photo of it, what do you guys think?

It’s up to you if you want to spend time fiddling around trying to rebuild the thing and hoping when you’re done that it works. If it was my motorcycle I would not do that. I would simply replace the parts in question with new old stock parts (definitely NOT used parts) and ride my motorcycle. The starter clutch consists of the assembly (part number 13193-1062) and the starter sprocket (part number 12046-1032), and those are the parts I would replace. Why do it any other way?? Ed
