slayer! Awesome pics and awesome job you guys. I'm very happy to hear of all of this good stuff happening. Tri, I got some duct tape and chewing gum. Get that rattlebucket together and I'll get mine together and perhaps we can do a leg of the journey together. I will be up there in a week or so. Wait for me if you can. ;)

There are a young man or two in the Berkeley, CA area. One is BlueJ's son and the other is Rider Randy. Maybe they will get involved in The Relay. Here is a link to Rider Randy's revived ride. >>> kzrider.com/forum/10-new-members/592444-...rcal?start=20#636179

I wish Zach was ready Forrest but he hasn't done much to his bike since it was recovered and he refuses to ride it looking the way it does now.
But he is finishing school this year with excellent grades and that's more important right ?

Yup, Stay in School is right Jack. Then again there is Rider Randy in Berkeley on his KZ. He is out of school and gainfully employed.

Craig, How's the repair coming? Any luck with your new kit? We are the only ones in this part of the state. I've been in contact with a fellow in Tipton? He says it's between Fresno and Bakersfield. Hope to hear from you soon. Paul

How 'bout this? It would mean riding down I5 for me, but it would keep the flag moving? Meet you in Santa Nella?

Are you saying that because of one spark plug failure, you have lost all faith in your KZ and will use a "street sweeper"?

this one is tired and leaks oil past the exhaust valve guides which ends up all over the head fins on more than a 1 hour ride....it ticks ... it fouls that one plug....as well as now shooting it out while riding ...lucky I did not go up in flames..........just being smart.....rebuild is certain and pending...plus my gal can drive along behind for fun and meet you and take pics of the bikes etc.....you and us can get some split pea soup in santa nella if we have time....getting a zx12R soon for longer rides....I dont ride these old bikes too far in 2014....seen many roll to a dead stop over the years.....always in the worst spots too....not often....but not my cup of tea anymore....the thrill is gone....walking along the side of the road with idiots doing 85 by you...aint 1980 anymore

So, does anyone still ride these old bikes anymore? And, wouldn't it be great to get out for a ride and meet other fellow KZ Riders who still do the same! ;)

BTW, I will be arriving in Morro Bay, CA Friday June 27th. I will be there for a ZRX Rally then departing on Sunday June 29th. I will head up PCH 1 past Monterey and take "The Road of Death", CA HWY 156; I like a challenge  . Will then go through Lodi on the way to Lake Tahoe before ending up in Ely, NV for the night. Anyone interested in meeting along the way is welcome. I could sort of be like a chase car. My Concours gets mistaken for a sawed-off convertible from time to time. In other words if the timing is right I could be a wingman if this helps advance the Relay Flag cause.

You talkin to me? :P LOL! ...... Yeah, I'm talking to you and everyone else that wishes to read this post. My point & focus is that I will soon be riding in the areas of Morro Bay, Monterey, Lodi, Sac, Tahoe, etc. No Relay Flag transport for me since I won't be on my KZ or other vintage Kawasaki. The best I can offer is fellowship, wingman duties, and other civilized well mannered hooligan behavior. I will have travelled over 2,500 miles by the time I pass through your area. Just letting you and others like Slayer know I will be passing through your neck of the woods. You never know, someone may wish to be sociable. In a perfect world, I would have liked to have met the man that brought forth that question/concept of whether anyone still rides these old bikes. Too bad you feel less than cordial. Just so you know; I fear no one, I fear no road.

Hey Slayer the plug fix went great....just got back from an hour ride...rides fine...like any other 36 year old KZ would....little better/little worse I'm sure than some...anyways it may be that I can come over this next Friday to Santa Nella get there for an early lunch...get us back in our respective areas before rush hour I would hope......how does that work timing wise for you Bro....If not than it may have to be after WSBK in July...but hard to tell from here
