I believe justinz830 has the flag but there is no one for him to pass it to. Justin, if that is in fact the case please acknowledge and let us know where you are located (in Kansas?) and hopefully someone will step up to the plate to receive it from you or we can figure out who to mail it to if that is the only way to get it moving again.

Thanks!

I have the flag. Next state: Kansas. See relay leg 3 for details -- handoff is Saturday. Justin is looking for CO help. All KZR guys here in NE are missing in action, and NOBODY IN IOWA (not really suprising) EVER spoke up for a handoff. TomW and I met in Iowa. So the flag has exited that state (but been in it briefly) without much enthusiasm.

Yeah, Ed. Sorry to be a bit negative, but hell, I have to ride down there with a buddy on a HD (his KZ650 is in pieces) and he's not even on the little google map. But you know what? The sun is out and we're RIDING! Looking forward to meeting Justin, who's STEPPING UP for the next leg!

Is this the new "rocky mountain leg?" I posted over on that thread a while ago and got no replies. I just posted again to see if anyone was around. I'm looking for someone to hand off to from KS to wherever. Does anyone have a clue about who is taking the flag next?

Hey Justinz, I live in Northern Illinois and have my KZ650 sharpened to go for any distance. I would be glad to help out. Heck I was on the Chicago leg as a support rider due to a dead battery at the time in the KZ. I have ridden with BlueJ58 and SaxJonz as well the rest of the Chicago contingent. TomW and I would have ridden out together from WI but I had other commitments. I can ride out and get this flag moved along to where there is more KZ Riders ready to take over, Just saying. Where in Kansas are you? To bridge any gaps, here is my cell # 630-391-1787.

Did the handoff to Justin (scheduled for Sat. June 29) in Kansas take place?
Thanks,

Long story short, no I don't have the flag. I just got this 1000 2 weeks ago and it wasn't running all that well when I got it. The tank was pretty cruddy on the inside causing loads of fuel problems. I've flushed the tank out 4 times now, and I'm making progress, but the the petcock still leaks like a sieve and I haven't got my float levels correct yet. To make matters worse I'm leaving for France on the 9th, and I'll be gone until the 24th. I would really like to work on the bike all night and get it running, but I did that last weekend to try to get it going for the scheduled handoff. I would probably be a single man if I did that again, since I'm going to be gone for over two weeks, I should probably spend some time with my girlfriend.

Forrest, if you could get with goodfastncheap, maybe you guys could coordinate a handoff, and move the flag along to leg 4. I hate to back out, but if I got the flag this weekend and didn't get it handed off it would be sitting in my empty apartment until the end of July at the earliest.

I am going to bed now. Will need my rest if someone happens to call or post they will meet up to take The Flag this holiday weekend. All I need is for someone to step forward and I will commit to riding west. Otherwise, There is no sense for me to ride out if there is no one to pass the Flag to. I hope
to make this ride.

Ed is trying to lay this ride thing at my feet but puppet strings aside....It was 100% Eds baby and born in his mind......
I only contributed a tissy fit post, days before his idea, asking how many guys had a running bike, camera, and actually knew how to air up their own tires and where the key goes to start it.....we had/have become so technical and fabrication orientated here on the site that no one had a bike that ran anymore.....
From a bunch of guys with vintage bikes who loved them and rode them and kept them running....we were becoming a site based on chopping them up,beefing them up,blinging them up,grafting them up ,welding modern parts onto them and ,then walking away in disgust without ever getting the once running bike back to running again .There were no pictures ,or few,of folks riding...hence kzrider...there were endless post of bikes on milk crates with gsxr wheels mocked up and post after post of broken things....I just wanted to know if anyone rode anymore...

im tired now and slightly sad....good bye
