I could be wrong, but think there will be enough room for signatures. At 11.5 x 15 it's about as big as 2 sheets of computer paper, so as long as John Hancock doesn't sign it I would think we could print the name/date/state and signature of about 100 riders. That's probably more riders than we will have. Ed

I'm trying to figure out a date for when we can kick this ride off. My dad is wanting to ride with me, he use to ride KZ's and will probably to rent a bike from somewhere to ride on. Would you be able to meet during the week? Either the March 4th through the 7th or 12-14 or 15th.

My parents are mainly coming to see our new baby but I want to do this ride while my dad is here. So they just need to know so they can buy airline tickets.

I am available most of March except for the 8-11th which is the MAC Tools Gatornationals in Gainesville. Its my annual spring get away for my nitro fix!! Only other date that may be booked is the 24th as I may be attending the Diesel Drags...

So with that in mind I would say the week of the 12th would be the best. Just in case something gets delayed, etc.. So say when, and I'm in...

I think I'm going to be the first rider. I think Boostable and I are going to start the week of March 12. So if we can decide on the flag and get it down here we will be ready to kick this thing off.

I'd say the flag is pretty well decided. Just need Rainman to get it to you.

So you guys are going to pass the flag off to jydog and/or enaz1 in GA?

Hi Rainman, have you tested what is the best pen / marker to use when signing the flag? Maybe you can do some tests on some of the leftover material and let us know your suggestion. Just would hate to use something that bleeds when signing it. Also, what will you recommend to roll/fold and container (if any) for the flag. I myself, will treat it like the Holy Grail. Don't want to be the one to mess it up or lose it.

Just a way out there thought , but.
what about starting in Newfoundland and running down to Florida. no flag shipping required. not that i;m against shipping it, I’m not.
just thinking that , by the time it gets to the lower states it may be fall, and the ride could keep going through the winter in the warmer climate??? then it could work back north again through the middle ????

just thinking out loud . :)

I think it already been decided that we're starting in Florida, otherwise we have to wait until lat May or June to even get started.
We could get the whole east coast done by then almost.

Ok, so we have an official kickoff date of March 12th? Where and when am I meeting? Flyndrive? I'll sling some carbs on my bike and stop messing with the fuel injection for a while and get this thing on the road. I want a T shirt with that flag on it.

Boostable is the 12th good for you? It is a Monday. T-shirts would be cool. It could be a little fund raiser for the website.

If anyone has a decent copy of the KZ Rider logo I'd be happy to make some shirts available that look a lot like the flag. Mods? Anyone out there got a copy of the logo?

Boostable, let me know what date you want to move it forward after you pick it up from Flyndrive. I can take a day off (two if needed) during the week. Or can arrange something for the weekend. Are you still coming to Panama City Beach? If so I can meet you at my place (you are 1:39 min away), or I can meet you in Ocala and we can continue on from there. We can keep going up the I-75 or us U.S. 19/98. If you are not doing PCB, then I can meet you in Orlando to pick up the token. Let me know which ride you want to do and what date(s) work for you.

Joe

Edit: Of course what ever date we choose for Panama City Beach will also dictate what dates JYDog has to make PCB. So he will need to sign off of on the date as well. Sounds like KZCM will be part of the second leg of the instead. Is that correct KZCM. But nothing should stop you from meeting up with with us in PCB in the first leg. You're close enough. Later in the relay you will get the token shipped to you from New Foundland by T_Dub (at least that is what I have pieced together from all the posts).

Rainman any luck on testing out pens on the fabric to see which one will work without bleeding or anything?

Also what do we want to write on the flag when each person gets it?

Name
Year and model of bike
State / Province

Anything else ???

PM me when your ready to send it my way.

I thought about adding that too, but I don't want the flag to get filled up before it makes it to everyone.

Anymore opinion on what to write on the flag?

Is there anyway the flag can be made bigger. The embroidery is awesome, but I think with the size it might be small. If people are going to be writing their info on it, the flag would get filled up really fast, not leaving room for riders at the end. The only size I can think of at the moment that is a little bigger but not too big would be the size if a pillow case (typing in bed so I don't know the actual measurements). That would give a little more room to write, but doesn't get too large and bulky.
