I am sure that I have a used reg/rec that you can have. I could send it to you if that would help. post a pic in your build thread and I will have a look in my spare parts.

Hey guys - I just received an email from KZScott that his bike is in the shop and he's dropping out of the relay.

We need to find someone else in a hurry to help get the flag through Maine

Dam! I think that's the third rider from Maine we've lost. I'll post an ad on Craigslist.

Wow I was just looking at the map . It"s like 1200 Miles to maine from where T-Dub is coming from. He will have some saddle sores for sure. Bike week in Laconia N.H. starts next week. There will be thousands of bikes in the area .To bad most are Harleys. I can"t believe that we can"t get someone to move the flag somehow.

Yup, I've got a long ways to go, but I dont mind doing it. 1200 miles each way, so someone should be able to step up and move the the thing a few hundred miles to get it to me. Even if it could be dropped in a dealership in Bangor for me to pick up, I dont want to have to go much further south than that. I'm looking at a 12 hour day on the road on the 23rd if I have to go to Bangor.

Hey guys. I'm busting my butt to get my bike working. If there was a Maine rider willing to meet in
St,john then I might be able to relay from there to port hawksbury to meet t-dub. I can't cross the boarder.
No passport.

Hey guys - I'm currently holding the flag in Massachusetts. I plan to take it to Maine via Vermont and New Hampshire to hit those states.

I have a brother in Arundel Maine which is in the south (20 mins south of Portland)and he also owns a house in Montville which is near Augusta.

I was hoping to meet KZScott at one of these locations so I could lay over but now his bike is broken down.

I could leave the flag with trusted individuals at either of these locations if it became hard get schedules together to meet someone so we're pretty flexible.

Also my brother in Arundel is going north later in the summer to the Gaspe' Penninsula in BC so that could be a possible way to send it except that he rides a Triumph.

Just putting my situation out there in case someone has an idea or we pick up another rider.

I hate to say it, but I think we need to start making a fallback plan. The date for T_dub's trip isn't real flexible and we're not having any luck finding a rider for Maine. The guy who responded to the CL ad hasn't responded to any other emails. It's only been 3 days so maybe he'll surface again, but at this point, we've lost so many riders from Maine, I don't think we should count on it.

What I propose is this: Squadrider takes the flag up into Maine and ships it from there to Heyst in Canada. Then Heyst relays it to T_Dub on the 23rd.

It breaks my heart a little to have to ship it within the first leg, but I don't think we can risk missing T_Dub on the 23rd.

What do you think?

We've been hit with another serious set back. T_Dub has had to bow out. He was planning a herculean ride from Newfoundland to Maine and back to plant the flag at Cape Spear Newfoundland and finish the East Coast run.

He's having electrical issues on his bike and doesn't think he can do it.

It's looking like it'll be up to Squadrider to finish the East Coast run and get the flag up into Maine and then ship it to leg 2. That also means Heyst is left out, but I don't see any other way. It doesn't make sense to ship it from Maine to Heyst just so he can turn around and ship it to Leg 2.

This is disappointing. I know we were all hoping to get this up into Canada and all the way to the literal end of the East Coast of North America, but going from FL to Maine is nothing to be ashamed of. We covered a lot of ground in just 3 months time and I think we should proud of this run.

Maybe Heyst would like to have the flag for a few days. Take it for a ride and get some pics for the record. Not his fault holes opened up all around him.

Just a thought. Figure if the guy was willing to commit we should show the same courtesy.
