Maybe it will, I hope the guy cops a plea deal and we can skip the court. I was looking forward to meeting you also.

Maybe he will.. I recently finished a court issue I got sucked into. My truck was broken into and the dumbass stole my 45 out of the glove box. Don't think he realized stealing a firearm is a felony here. Facing 5yrs he plead guilty (3yrs proba, 300hrs Comm Service, etc).

Anyway, not the thread for my rambling, just stay focused on the bike and make sure she is ready to roll.. "just in case" :)

BTW, I just Thanked You, not sure for what, but Im sure I have or will forget to thank you for something in the future.. LOL

Oh no! T_Dub might be out of the East Coast leg as well. He's moving from Newfoundland. That would be our last two riders.

What year is the Vulcan? I don't think the flag has to be transported on KZs but I think it should be vintage Kawasakis.

That sucks. I can't speak for the group and maybe someone should ask 650ed since this was his idea, but I think we need to find another way to cover Maine. Maybe RonnieV can hit it.

Personally, I'm totally cool with anyone on any bike riding along for the relay (even those American made bikes). I just think in order to be a KZR relay the flag needs to go on vintage Kawisakis all the way.

For me vintage is 20+ years old.

I may have suggested the idea, but I don't make any rules ;) Having said that, the original intent was for KZ's to carry the token. If there are states that simply cannot be represented by a KZ I would think a member on a vintage Kaw would serve as a reasonable substitute. At least it would be a KZR rider for the KZR relay. And of course, any friends on any bikes would be welcomed escorts for the KZ riders. But again, whatever the group decides is perfectly fine with me; I'm just another rider in this relay. Ed

P.S. Even bikes with pods or the coil mod should be allowed to participate  :woohoo:

Jay, I couldn't tell which part of the country you live, but you can always ride along with others in your area for that part of the relay. Lots of members here are doing just that due to the density of member relay riders in their area. And even in places where that is not the case, friends of KZR's (on different makes, even Harleys) are riding along. Makes for a more in enjoyable ride than a solitary KZ rider making the pick up and hand off. As far as hitting every state, that would be the goal but if it doesn't happen, so what. Man, I read that in the '76 Olympics they relayed the flame electronically via satellite across the Atlantic. I think the main idea is to have each member have an enjoyable ride (maybe with friends) and for them to meet other like minded KZr's from this site. And have the whole adventure documented and photographed here on the site.

Topper wrote: So just for comparison...

If we end in Miami there's 14 hours of travel to get it to the next new rider in Huntsville, AL.

If we end in Newfoundland there's about 36 hours of travel to get it to the next new rider in Niagra.

That's assuming highway riding, not back roads.

I'm starting to think shipping the object a couple times is going to be innevitable and we'd be better off to just embrace that. It'll allow us to start when we want and ride the roads we want without burdening a few people with the task of backtracking through territory we've already covered.

My vote is start in FL in March and head up the east coast.

Picking up a couple other southern states along the way would great, the more the better.

But we've got no riders for MS, AK, or LA. Might be better to have our one rider from Alabama cover states to his west rather than assist with getting it north.

as long as it rides in every state is the key idealy we would hand off to another rider but real world may not be possible. I have the abillity to ride in 3 seperate states within an hour of me not everyone has that capability so however we have to do it I'm OK with it

I can run to SC on I-85 around 4/21-22 since I will be out of town from 9th till 20th. Sorry I wish I could do it on the weekend before.

Then I can hand it to topper on the weekend of 28th-29th.

If the timeline is looking like this, I should have my bike together in plenty of time. Barring no unforeseen major snags, of course. ;)

This is looking better and better for me. That later it reaches me the better, but we should still shoot to have it leave Canada and head south on the NW leg before summer's over up here.
