Justin going to Colorado next? And, Who is next for a hand off there? If needed, I can put the word out to another group of Kawasaki enthusiasts, many in CO and have KZs or vintage Kawasakis.

I did put the word out on a very active Kawasaki Owners board for ZRX models, ZRXOA.ORG. Many have KZs but may not frequent this forum. So, I have stirred the pot. Hope this will help.

I provided a link to this thread here.
Here is the link to my thread there>>>> www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthread.php?2981...INTAGE-RIDERS-NEEDED!!!

I'll be watching that thread, Forrest. Good luck with that. I think the next target should be NM Four Corners area, if it's not on fire. The SE corner of CO can be cut on the way to NM if Four Corners can't be reached at the time. Utah then becomes a problem. A trip to Lake Powell might be in order.

Justin sent me a text and informed me that GoodFastNCheap still holds the flag. Asked him to contact him for a hand off! I can make the trek and step in to assist. The relay can still go through Kansas and even meet Justin. Just want to get this moved while there is an opportunity. Justin may need some help anyway due to some travel plans out of his area. I will let him fill in any details himself. Now, we just need a KZ or vintage Kawasaki rider in Colorado to appear!

Thanks for the PM! Very helpful.

Justin sent me a text this afternoon. He will be working on the bike with some delivered parts. This may still work but his window is closing after this weekend. I will let him elaborate himself. Again, Let's try to find someone in the mountain states. I used to know a guy with an original ELR KZ in Santa Fe, NM. Now what was his name???? :pinch:

gravit8 wrote: *sigh

Am I really going to have to offer to ride all the fk around the country to get this done?

Because I will. I'm serious. I've already ridden from Albuquerque to Iowa, and once I get some new bits bolted on, I've got no problem blasting around the country if I've got a destination, so long as my funds hold up (unemployment extension FTW!).

I'm currently in Iowa City, I ride with a surplus Army sleeping bag and that's about it. I don't care where I sleep, I'll put in 600 miles in a day, and my '83 KZ1100A3 doesn't mind so long as I keep oil in the crankcase (you should see my left boot...).

What I'm trying to say is, LETS GET THIS DONE! I'm also supposed to be the ABQ handoff for leg 3/4, but if this takes forever I'll have to, you know...get a job, probably here in Iowa

So unless anyone else wants to volunteer for 2 parts of this trip...well, I'll throw down and ride wherever I gotta go to help get this done. Hell, I can probably even raise some funds for gas $$ from friends if I have to. Sorry if I come off as a bit pushy, but when I bought this bike I fully intended to ride it anywhere and everywhere the tickled my fancy. 500 miles ain't ****, forgive my enthusiasm but seriously, I logged 650 miles in one day on my way to Iowa, through Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Didn't break a sweat. So, umm, let's do this. Git 'er done!

Also, this talk of seasonal weather...pssssh. My KZ is all I got to get me where I'm goin. If we get the northern states taken care of, the southwest is great for a little November/December riding. Lol. It's all about the layers.

Okay, that's as motivational as I get. I'm going to post this to my facebook thingy, and try to raise a little support from the Harley crowd. Let's show them old coots how the Kawi guys do it!

We could sure use some of you about now! You have been PM'd.
