Hate it for you Les. Is that from high mileage or high rate valve springs? What is the recommended life of a timing chain? Too lazy to look in the book.

How about some rallies now???? I know that we have several riders in Indiana, don't think most are on this board but hey, business cards! Drop them in between seat and tank when you see these old bikes out and about. I know there are SEVERAL people who ride in Chicagoland who unfortunately don't know about this board.

Sorry I was a little sore after the ride home and took one of the docs "magic" pills... lights out for awhile!

I plan to put some miles every day on my bike, just to solidify my confidence in her. We are going across Indy and back today.
She only has 16k on the clock, and I rebuilt the top end last year with lots of go fast goodies, about 2k on the rebuild, but the bottom end and cam chain were unmolested.

The extremely looong term and almost always incorrect forecast for Sunday is only 20% rain. I have all the gear, and those that attend GS rallies call me Rain Man because it always rains when I attend, so I will be on the road Sunday unless there is thunder and lightning.

Press on regardless of any road gremlins and keep the flag moving !!!

Please do. We plan on finding you some fun roads on your way north. Any way you would be willing to head a bit further north to meet up?

My thinking was I have another 250 mile weekeend the following weekend depending on how far north my southern brothers decide to ride but I'm up for whatever needs done. we are running out of weather so the faster it gets south the better off we all are.

I'll talk to Les tonight. I am also going to talk to Brian, who is actually going to make the routes because he rides down there all the time. Trust me, Les will be riding more than 95 miles.

Let's do this. Pick a DQ at or around Vincennes and we will meet you there Sunday afternoon.
If you want Brian to pick a non-boring route, post here by Wednesday afternoon.
Otherwise, we shall see you there.
Be sure and bring rain gear, because it is going to rain.

Parts aren't getting here till Thursday and I'm working Friday and Saturday so I'm not going over 95 miles one way unless it's totally unavoidable! I've got to split the cases to put the chain in so the cranks getting welded and new backcut trans going in, rings too! It's open and I'll do a throw down on it but right now I'm gunshy and she's not going to be happy if I have to call her again. I google mapped it and it's 129 miles to vincennes from Indy but that is going I70 to Terra Haute then down, my plan was to go thru Terra Haute originally but can deviate a little East to meet you guys, just have to compromise a little I guess.
Oh, and rain, I'll have to think about that, you see my bike up close and you'll know, it ain't no trailer queen but I try to keep it pretty respectable and water spots are a bear on polished aluminum.

Thanks Ram! I confident everything will be okay but just when you think you got it, well, it happens. Just like the timing chain deal. I asked a lot of my little woman last week, big dinner plans got canceled with her son and his girlfriend and everything is cool but If I do it again, well, who's to say. You know the saying, "momma aint happy, nobody's happy".
