thanks mate, i rekon they will look fairly similar when done.
its a 09' R1 swinger, so that's the way it sits, i chose it coz it had the underbrace and the cut out in one side so i can do an undertail exhaust....
it also has reversed linkage, if you look at the pic below you will notice the dogbone
bolts to the swingarm not the frame.
the only problem i have had so far is having to make a swingarm piviot bolt and bushes, but thats only because in using a shaft drive frame as they are a lot wider and give better chain clerance on the frame.
the triples are off a 05' Z1000, the forks are the same size!

Re: yet another KZ1000 streetfighter build
07 Dec 2012 21:58 - 07 Dec 2012 22:02When new, a few Kawasaki models had a built-in security cable residing inside the frame, which was pulled out when needed to lock the bike to a nearby post or whatever.
Am vaguely recalling a ring on the cable end that remained accessible when the cable wasn't deployed.
It usually didn't take very long until the cable rusted stuck inside the frame and became unusable, and so nasty that nobody wanted to use it anyhow.
If it's not that, I don't know what it is. And if it is that, nobody ever needed it.

There were probably other Kawasaki models with the provision for the built-in security cable.
It's only barely visible in the brochures shown in the foregoing posts.
I believe -- but not positive -- that it's included on '81, '82 and '83 J models.
Good Fortune!
