Ok so a bit bigger progress today, I now have a Z1000 J engine!

This is what $300AUDcan buy you, not bad when the only other engines I can find are a bottom end for $999
And one for $1200 condition unknown....

So I got a set of MIKUNI carbies

And the engine with no broken fins!!!!!!!!!!

Mmmmm power........

I also got the coils and was supposed to get the loom but the dickhead chucked it, so I said to throw in he tank( with taps and sender unit and let's call it even! Done deal....... Ha what a fucken idiot!!!!!!!

On closer inspection o the barrels I have noticed 1.089L not 998cc.... Have I scored a Z1000 R engine?

Thanks mate its better than the tank I already have and it's got a tap!

So I coulden't resist popping the cam cover off......

To reveille the smell of beautiful fresh oil....YES!!!!

Then saw the cam gears with virtually no wear.

But of corse the first thing I noticed was these puppies without a mark on them!

I think this would run fine without a rebuild but I want t paint the cases anyway so I ll pull
It apart throw in some mains weld the crank while it's out, maybe rings depending on a
Comp test.....

Then I may take advantage of those direct injection ports.....................

WOW!! The whole inside of the motor looks minty fresh, so unlike the outside.
Should look killer when you get it painted

I have been looking at CBR1000RR exhausts for a while now and finally took a punt on one for 30 bucks, I don't think it's even beeoa running bike!
You would think it was made to go under the tail of a GPZ1100.

I want it to sit back 2-3inches and up about 1 inch and of corse I'll open it up and take most of the guts out.

Wow that fits pretty well and taking the UJM concept to an extreme. They even left you room for a mono shock too!! This kind of info is great to share, thanks.

haha sure is!

yeah there will be a heap of room left for the mono and electrics, as i will be running the exhaust down the side of the frame to meet up with the cutout in the R1 swinger.
