Ha Ha , yeah, I already had an offer from a friend to buy it! When I got the 1000 he thought that I'd sell him this. No Deal, not for sale. So now I have to build another one for him, but it's just going to be a stock '81 550 with a Yoshimura pipe, brake lines and a shock/fork spring upgrade. I'm actually going to give him the bodywork on the bike in the pic, and then do a new set for myself. This set a little more mint than it is lime.

Corey, just sent you an email a few minutes ago

Any reason in particular you chose the 1000p forks?

I'm going to start tearing into my 81 gpz 550 as it needs its 10 year revival. Looking at potential upgrades while I have it apart

mjg15 wrote: Bike is now on two wheels ! I got a Concours 1000 front axle, it was nearly a perfect fit, I had to turn down the end caps 1mm. Also got steering stem bearing that mate the front end successfully to the frame. Steering stops got built today also. A little detailing and the frame will be off to the powdercoaters !

What year Concours 1000 front axle was that? (I see different thickness spacers for different years)
Did you use the speedo drive from the police wheel or Concours?
I'm doing the same thing as you, but having problems. :(
