that's pretty cool about zemke i found out a long time ago that the real bikers like him are very good with the fan's and tend to have long careers the ego maniac's don't last long and they are done i have met chris carr 3 different times and the last two times he actually remembered me and where it was that we met i thought that was really cool and up here i've talked to steve crevier quite a few times and even hung out with him and his crew and he's an awesome guy as well a very good representitive of the products and bikes they are using.

The resevior is from a GSXR, as well as the master cylinder.

I looked at all the stuff on that website, pretty cool. I am trying to blend the old with the new, and sticking mostly to production "bits".

The idea being you'll need to take a second look, as this should look like another "jap bike" except...just some modernazation.

I like looking at all the billet stuff, but a whole bike full is a little much for me.

Thanks for the input though, I am looking at the digital Speedo/tach. Wondering if any of you have used them yet.

Last weekend I went to the Summit racing store, bought some braided stainlees steel oil lines and fittings. Will post thw photos soon as the dam battery charges up in the camera.

Ahh ha,

This will warm all your hearts!!

Went to the AFM road races at Thunderhill, Ca. last weekend.

There is a class there called "Super Dinosaur".

Dawggee. Walking through the pits I saw about a 74 KZ900. Bashed up tank, Upside down forks, big beefee swing arm, Ohlins shocks, gusseting etc etc.

The rider was giving the 90's vintage bikes a real run for the money, stuck with them good, I think he got third in the race. Angry sounding in line four. angry.

The newer (the class rule is 12 years old or older) bikes rev high, they have a different sound. The KZ, very deep growl. That motor was strong.

If you are "that guy" and you are reading this...you made the weekend for us!!

How about a roller bearing on a longer bolt, in the lower hole of the motor mount? Like the washers i had on mine?

I am using a digital speedometer. It is a Trailtech "Vapor". It has a number of useful features and I am happy with the clean appearance.

Roller bearing..

I was thinking a bushing, which the longer bolt would clamp down on, the bushing would be a slip fit into a peice of round urethene. In the early 80's long travel dirt bikes used a simular deal on the lower side of the chain.

I want to make two. First one I can mail to you, then if it works (you have a running bike to try it on), I;ll make the second for me.

What do you think?

Digital speedo, I would sure like to see a photo.

This weekend I got much done, well much for me, I move slow. Being a perfectionist gets in the way of progress. I cut into the lower bosses of the foot peg bolts like you recommended, looks real tight there. That sucks cause now the powder coat...:S

I also ran some oil cooler lines. I have never been a fan of the way the Japanese do it with two herken lines rubbing parallel beside the motor, so I tried something I have not seen yet.

341 gave me an oil cooler a few years ago, thanks Troy!!

What do you think?

Is this the Speedo? Will she install it?

Seriously,

I have questions.

1. how do you wire the tach assuming the Vapor has one?

2. how was the quality overall?

3. have you tried their rectifier?

i also have a vapor on my z1r,it gets the tach input from either the post on the coil(i have dyna coils),or wrap the wire around the spark plug wire.i still haven't gotten mine to read completely right on the tach(it is about 1500 or 2000 off,i think)but it is just that i need to do a little more program adjustment i think.

Vapor--
Made in the U.S.A.
I really like mine!
It has a clock and thermometer and cool blinky lights.:P
I hooked the Tach wire to the coil wire instead of the plug wire and it works very well.
Mine pooped out on me and they sent me a new one with no hassles.Great customer service.
It has been perfect.
You can program the yellow light as a shift light and the red one as red line. How cool is that. The backlight is white and easy to see.
I ordered a kit for the Suzuki SV650 because my front wheel is similar. It is super quick to install and calibration was not that bad either.

The front end top view looks great .B)
Just a heads up, clear the paint on the bars for a good ground under the horn side controls, or add a horn ground.I had horn issues due to this.
