Aloha!! Long time reader, first time poster. Just became a member here as I got a OK from my wife to ride again. Last rode was about 20-some years ago. Recently, My boy got interested in motorcycle and we started to refresh 89 ZX-7 and 82' KZ750. My wife couldn't say no to my boy, and guess who's gonna teach him how to ride!

Just wanted to say hello, at the same time, get some help with my rebuild and hopefully, give some help but don't hold your breath as my knowledge is 20-some years old. 500cc GP was still on ESPN, WSB was on 750.

I will try post many pictures as possible, but I need to rebuilt my 89' ZX-7 first due to parts availability, so it may be few and far in between.

Aloha Ojisan!
I assume you are in Hawaii? I am about to go back for my 5th time in march, I love it. There are a few members on this forum out there. Every time I go there I expect to see some cool old Japanese stuff but rarely see anything but Harleys. Judging by the large japanese population I expected rental places or something at least. Once again, all I saw was Harley.

Yeah, the other site are mainly for the newer bikes, so came here to get some tips, and hopefully, help other as well. I'll be posting pictures on the other site from time to time, but I'll post pictures here as much as I can on my KZ rebuilt.

Yes. I'm from Hawaii. Yeah, you're right. All we have is Harleys here. Not sure why, Maybe because we have lots of military guys here (something to do with made in America type of thing). Other factor is that we don't have any race track here, so no place to open the throttle!

All others, thanks for the warm welcome.

I already pulled the bike out from under the house, so I'll post up pictures when I can.

I bought my 1981 GPz550 at Cycle Sports Waipahu in 1992 or 1993. :-) According to Google Earth the building is now empty but I guess it changed into a carpet store somewhere along the way.

And it's a shame that Hawai'i Raceway Park is no longer there. My friends and I still have the videos we shot in the early 1990s of some of our cars doing the quarter. I ran the GPz as well but my buddy had some technical difficulties with the camera and didn't capture it.
