gs1100 cal-fab swing arm on kz??

I got a chance to buy a rolling 1980 has struts, cal-fab arm(2-4" over?), and has alum. spoke wheels.

I know these arms are super rare but will it bolt up to the z1/kz frame pretty easy? The stock arm is 2" over the kz right? What do you guys think? Should I spend the $$ and get it?

the gs swingarm is a a touch narrower than the kz one. So it will bolt right in with just two washers and that is it.

Calfab was a great company but these days i dont think the price of the swingarms is worth it. Especially when you could get a stock swingarm from a modern sportbike for a lot less money. I cant tell you if you should buy the bike that depends on how much you want to spend. The coolness factor though would be pretty high:D

Non-stock swingarm retrofitting

I got a '82 GS1100 swingarm for my '73 Z1-900 that I hope to fit wider rims and radial tires on. Spent $100.00 on ebay.

Got an almost brand new (500 miles) '97 Suzuki Bandit 1200 swingarm for $60.00 (includes shipping cost) for my '78 KZ1000 project bike. Just got OEM Bandit swingarm spacers ($65.00) that I need to make this swingarm fit my KZ1000. Just got to weld mounts for my ZRX1100 rear shocks and get a custom spacer so that I can use my stock KZ1000 swingarm pivot bolt in the Bandit swingarm. I could not see spending big dollars on swingarms.
